puppetry
Lowri first encountered puppetry at Central School of Speech and Drama where she was intrigued by all the possibilities it offers for creating transformative theatre. She went on to study in Barcelona with Rene Baker, and created work as Nitty Gritty Theatre, for Les Images Marionnettes (Brussels), Barionettes Festival (Paris), and Glastonbury Festival.
Lowri co-founded Sketty Theatre in 2005 to create original plays blending puppetry, new writing and physical theatre.
With commissions from the National Theatre Studio, Oval House and SOHO Theatre their productions toured the UK receiving acclaim from the UK press including Time Out Critics Choice ***** .
“With the fewest of props and huge amounts of imagination, Sketty has created an infinitely touching piece, quite beautifully performed.”
